DuneTraq / Live Convoy

Your crew.
In the picture.

A convoy is better when the crew has the same picture. Create a private Live Convoy, invite your drivers and keep participating vehicles in view as you record your desert drive.

01

One invite. Your people.

Create a private convoy and share its code or invitation link with the people you are driving with. Drivers join using their DuneTraq account. The invitation gives your crew a shared session instead of a stream of separate location messages. Decide who is joining before the drive and check that everyone has entered the intended convoy.

02

A shared view during the drive.

While participating drivers record, Live Convoy shows shared vehicle positions and driving context such as direction, distance and battery information. The driver roster helps you see who is part of the session. Each participant still records their own trip, so the shared view and the individual drive record serve different purposes.

03

Know when a position is old.

A location marker is only as useful as its latest update. DuneTraq shows stale warnings when shared information is no longer fresh. Live Convoy needs an internet connection to exchange positions; a loss of signal can leave you looking at an older location. Treat freshness as part of the picture and keep your crew's agreed communication plan.

A few useful answers

Before you head out.

Does everyone need DuneTraq?

Participating drivers use a signed-in DuneTraq account to join and share their position. An invitation link helps someone open the convoy in the app.

Does Live Convoy work without internet?

Live position exchange needs internet. Trip recording can continue offline, but that does not provide fresh positions from the rest of the convoy.

Can Live Convoy replace our radio or recovery plan?

No. Live Convoy supports coordination. It is not emergency assistance or rescue, and it should sit alongside your crew's communication and safety plan.
