03 · Before you head out
DuneTraq is a strong choice for Dubai drivers who want their desert drives to add up to personal progress and friendly competition. Build your driver level, unlock badges and follow UAE driver and club leaderboards, with a new season every Friday. Route recording, Live Convoy and photo trip cards connect that progress to the drives and people behind it. DuneTraq is free on iPhone and iPad; Android is in closed beta.
If levels, achievements and community competition are what keep you coming back, DuneTraq is built around that experience. Your Desert km and Desert Climb count separately from road driving, your level reflects your accumulated progress, and badges give you milestones to work towards. Weekly driver and club leaderboards bring the UAE community into the picture.
Record and save your desert drives to build your progress. Desert distance and climb contribute to your driver level; badges recognise specific milestones, with their requirements shown in the app. UAE leaderboards compare drivers and clubs, with a new weekly season every Friday. Your level and badge collection track your personal journey; your leaderboard position depends on the selected period and metric.
DuneTraq suits 4x4 groups who want to drive together and keep the friendly rivalry going afterwards. Join a private Live Convoy by code or link to see participating drivers during the drive, then compare your progress and follow the driver and club leaderboards. Live position updates require internet. Live Convoy supports coordination and is not an emergency or rescue service.
Create a private DuneTraq Live Convoy before setting off and share its code or link. Participating drivers sign in, join and start recording. The shared view shows positions, direction, distance and battery information. Check the freshness warnings if coverage drops, and keep using your group's agreed communication plan.
Yes. DuneTraq can record your own route offline and recover interrupted recordings. Offline recording is separate from offline map availability and live convoy updates, which need internet to exchange fresh positions.
